Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) is using LogBook360 Smart Queue Management, provided by GlobalVox at no cost, to streamline the Tatkal Property Name Transfer process. The solution is currently deployed across 7 AMC Zonal Offices, with plans to extend it to 63 additional Civic Centers across Ahmedabad.
LogBook360 brings online time-slot booking, pre-registration, QR-based check-in, and walk-in token management into one simple workflow. Citizens can either book their visit in advance or walk into an AMC office, receive a token, take a seat in the waiting area, and follow their turn on the digital TV display. This helps create a more organized citizen experience while making it easier for AMC teams to manage high-volume service flow.
When a busy service turns into a long wait
For someone visiting a municipal office, the expectation is pretty simple: come in, get the work done, and leave. But when a large number of citizens need the same service during a limited time window, things can quickly get crowded.
This was the situation AMC wanted to improve for Tatkal Property Name Transfer. Citizens would often arrive around the same time, which meant more people waiting together, physical queues forming, and staff having to manage the crowd manually.
For citizens, there was also the simple frustration of not knowing how long they would have to wait or when their turn would come. The process worked, but the experience around it could be much better.
AMC needed a way to spread out arrivals, handle both online appointments and walk-ins, and give citizens a clearer idea of what was happening while they waited. The goal was not to completely change the service. It was to make the journey around the service easier, more organized, and less stressful for everyone.
- Citizens arriving within the same time window: better appointment and arrival management.
- Physical queues: a digital queue.
- Manual token coordination: digital token management.
- Uncertainty while waiting: real-time queue visibility.
- Online and walk-in citizens: one workflow for both.
- Multiple service locations: a scalable solution.
One digital queue for scheduled and walk-in citizens
GlobalVox implemented LogBook360 Smart Queue Management to bring the different parts of the citizen journey together in one simple workflow.
Citizens who want to plan can book a time slot through the app and complete their pre-registration before visiting the AMC office. Once they arrive, they can use the QR-based check-in to enter the digital queue.
For citizens who have not booked online, there is an easy walk-in option too. They can arrive at the AMC office, use the on-site token machine, get their token, and join the same queue.
After getting their token, citizens do not have to stand in a physical line. They can sit in the waiting area and keep an eye on the digital TV display for their number. When the Deputy Superintendent displays the next token, the citizen knows it is their turn to head to the service counter. This keeps the experience simple for citizens while making it easier for AMC staff to manage the flow of people.
How the citizen journey works
From booking to service, the process is simple: Book → Check In → Get a Token → Take a Seat → Watch the Display → Get Served.

- 1Book: select a convenient time slot and pre-register online.
- 2Arrive: visit the designated AMC office.
- 3Check in: use QR-based check-in if pre-registered.
- 4Get a token: receive a digital queue token.
- 5Wait: sit comfortably in the waiting area.
- 6Watch: follow the live token number on the TV.
- 7Get served: proceed to the counter when called.
Two ways in. One queue.
Not every citizen follows the same path. Some people book their slot in advance. Others simply walk into the AMC office. LogBook360 was designed to accommodate both without creating two separate systems for staff to manage. Different starting points. One organized queue.
From physical queues to digital queue management
The biggest change is simple. Citizens do not need to stand in a physical queue to wait for their turn.
Before LogBook360: common service window, citizens arrive, crowd, physical queue, waiting, manual coordination, service.
With LogBook360: online booking or walk-in, check-in, digital token, seated waiting, live display, service.
This is more than replacing a paper token with a digital one. The entire citizen flow becomes structured around the queue.
The technology behind the experience
LogBook360 brings the different parts of the process together, so citizens and AMC staff do not have to manage each step separately.
- Online appointment booking: citizens can choose a preferred time slot and plan their visit in advance.
- Pre-registration: visitor information can be completed before arriving at the AMC office, making check-in smoother.
- QR check-in: citizens who have registered online can quickly check in using a QR code when they arrive.
- Walk-in registration: citizens without an appointment can still join the queue through the on-site token machine.
- Digital token management: each citizen receives a token that gives them a clear position in the queue.
- Digital TV display: the current token number is displayed on the TV in the waiting area, so citizens can follow their turn.
- Queue management: AMC staff can manage the flow of citizens through a structured digital queue instead of relying entirely on manual coordination.
- Comfortable waiting: once they have their token, citizens can sit in the waiting area rather than standing in a physical queue.
“The goal was to make the process simpler for citizens and easier for our teams to manage. With digital appointments, tokens, and live queue displays, citizens can wait comfortably instead of standing in long queues.”
Seven AMC zonal offices are already live
The first phase of the LogBook360 deployment is currently operational across seven AMC Zonal Offices:
- Central Zone (Sardarbag): Live
- Memco Zonal Office: Live
- North West Zone: Live
- South West Zone: Live
- South Zone: Live
- Viratnagar Zonal Office: Live
- West Zone Zonal Office: Live

A more organized way to deliver citizen services
The most visible change is the way citizens wait. Instead of forming a physical line, visitors can receive a token and wait in the designated seating area. The digital display keeps them informed, so they know when their number has been called. For AMC staff, the queue becomes easier to structure and manage; for citizens, the process becomes easier to understand; and for the organization, the deployment creates a model that can be extended to more locations.

What changed for citizens?
The technology behind LogBook360 is fairly sophisticated. The experience for the citizen is deliberately not. A citizen does not need to know how the queue management system works. They just need to know what happens next.
They can book a slot if they want to plan ahead. They can check in when they arrive. They receive their token, take a seat, watch the screen, and move to the counter when their number appears. That removes much of the uncertainty that comes with a traditional physical queue. Instead of repeatedly asking staff when their turn is, the answer is right there on the screen.
What changed for AMC?
For AMC, LogBook360 provides a digital structure around the citizen flow. Online appointments help organize scheduled arrivals. Walk-in tokens provide flexibility for citizens who arrive without an appointment. Digital tokens create a clear service sequence, while the TV display keeps citizens informed.
The result is a workflow that is easier to understand and easier to repeat across locations. A system that works in one office is useful; a system that can be rolled out across dozens of civic centers is much more valuable.
Scaling beyond seven offices
The seven zonal offices represent the first phase of the deployment. GlobalVox plans to expand LogBook360 Smart Queue Management to 63 additional AMC Civic Centers.
The significance is not just the number 63. It is the opportunity to create a consistent digital queue experience across a much larger civic network. The same basic experience can follow citizens from one location to another: register, check in, get a token, wait, and get served.
Why this matters for smart city services
Digital transformation in government does not always need to be complicated. Sometimes, it means taking an everyday problem and making it work better. A crowded waiting area is an everyday problem. A citizen not knowing when their turn will come is an everyday problem. Staff spending time coordinating physical queues is an everyday problem.
LogBook360 addresses those problems by creating a digital layer around the citizen journey. Appointments organize arrivals, QR check-in simplifies registration, digital tokens organize the queue, the TV display keeps citizens informed, and the entire workflow gives staff a clearer way to manage the flow of people.
The AMC deployment also demonstrates how LogBook360 can extend beyond the traditional corporate reception environment. At its core, the platform is about managing people and their movement through a physical environment. In an AMC office, that means citizens arriving for a civic service. In another environment, the same concept can be adapted to organizations dealing with high visitor volumes, appointments, waiting areas, and service counters.
The next chapter
Seven AMC Zonal Offices are already live. 63 additional Civic Centers are planned. What started as a way to streamline Tatkal Property Name Transfer is becoming a broader digital queue management model for citizen services.
For GlobalVox, the project demonstrates something important: technology does not have to make a process feel more technical. It can make the process feel simpler. A citizen walks in. They get their token. They take a seat. They watch the screen. Their number appears. They get their work done.
